The bus industry this week warned that plans for new investment and new partnership working with councils could be delayed after the Office of Fair Trading’s referred Britain’s bus industry (outside London) to the Competition Commission.
The OFT took the decision after considering responses to its own provisional conclusions on Britain’s bus industry. It is particularly keen for the CC to look at the tendency for local areas to be dominated by a single operator.
