Ken Livingstone has tasked Transport for London (TfL) to study the possibilities of launching a huge bike hire scheme in the capital to persuade people to cycle for short everyday journeys.
This follows the mayor seeing the Velib — “Freedom Bike” — bike hire scheme in operation in Paris.
