Work has started on building the A487 Porthmadog, Minffordd and Tremadog bypass. A 5.2km dual two-lane road will diverge from a new junction on the A487 south-west of Penrhyndeudraeth and run west to rejoin the A487 at its junction with the A498, east of Tremadog. The new road could be completed by late next year.
Client: Welsh Assembly Government. Designer and contractor: Balfour Beatty/Jones Bros joint venture.
