Freight industry urges councils to think twice before pursuing LEZs

THE FREIGHT Transport Association hopes to persuade Reading Borough Council to abandon plans for a Low Emission Zone in the town centre.

The FTA’s head of urban logistics policy, Gordon Telling, told the association’s urban logistics conference in London last week that the FTA was talking with Reading about other ways to manage lorry traffic, including routing strategies.
