Watchdog calls for a ‘right time’ railway

Research shows trains are ‘on time’ but their passengers are late

Passenger Focus is calling for the rail industry to put adopt tighter punctuality performance measures. Currently, the industry’s Passenger Performance Measure logs trains as ‘on time’ if they arrive at the final station within five or 10 minutes (depending on journey length). However, research by the rail consumer watchdog suggests that a high PPM score is not always accompanied by happy passengers.
