Sheffield's two major bus operators have challenged the city council to scrap its bus Quality Contract plans and work in partnership to boost services.
“Quality Contracts are not the answer,” said First South Yorkshire in a briefing paper published last week. It said the costs of a QC were “disproportionate” and the franchised system of bus operations in London relied on a higher subsidy than the rest of Great Britain combined.
