Heritage rail bosses in Leicestershire will unveil ambitious plans for a new rail link between Nottingham and Leicester at the House of Commons later this month.
The Great Central Railway (GCR) currently operates tourist services over an eight-mile stretch of track between Loughborough and Leicester North. The line is a remnant of the Great Central main line from London to Nottingham which closed in the 1960s.
