First it was celebrities in uproar over spoof Twitter accounts being set up in their name, and now it seems that bus operators are now a victim of the prank. A wag has created a Twitter account posing as bus operator National?Express West Midlands, creating confusion for bus passengers by urging them to avoid a competitor as “they make you impotent and the seats are made of asbestos”.

Obviously there are problems for NXWM with such behaviour, but one posting did shed light on perhaps why the operator clings to its archaic exact fare regime. “The extra 30p every time you don't have change is officially unaccounted for, syphoned off, and bet on the horses...”
