'Government has listened to bus operators on BSOG subsidy' says CPT

The bus industry has broadly welcomed the results of the Comprehensive Spending Review.

However, Simon Posner, chief executive of industry trade association the Confederation of Passenger Transport UK expressed disappointment at plans to cut the Bus Service Operators Grant.

From 2012/13, the Department for Transport today announced plans to make a reduction in the subsidy paid to bus operators by reducing the rate at which subsidy is paid by 20% as part of the Spending Review. The incentives...
