A new car park in Birmingham has been equipped with a robotic system to park customers vehicles. The automated car park is sited 20 metres (65ft) beneath a canal-side £100m office, retail and residential development called The Cube.
The 23-storey building was designed by architect Ken Shuttleworth, the architect responsible for the City of London’s Swiss Re (aka the 'Gherkin'). Because of limited space for parking, motorists have to drive into a lift and then get out of their car....
