TfL yet to reveal the real bankcard ticketing revolution

When Transport for London unveiled its plans for contactless bankcard ticketing across its bus and rail networks at the end of last month, the headlines rather missed the point.

Certainly the story TfL was keen to get across is true. The scheme is a world leader in scale, and it will introduce new levels of convenience for passengers. By next summer passengers will be able to use their bankcards for Pay-As-You-Go travel on the capital’s bus network by touching in and out just as they do...
