Noting that the UK’s first road safety strategy preceded the New Labour Government, Clinton observes that: “We have had national strategies and targets in place for almost 25 years and they have been very important.” The fact that, at time of writing, the current Liberal Democrat-Conservative coalition government has yet to produce its new road safety strategy, despite the document being planned for publication in April, leaves ROSPA’s road safety head somewhat nervous....
