Liverpool city Council plans to launch a city centre bike hire scheme this September, to coincide with European Mobility Week.
The council has £235,000 to help fund the scheme over its first two years. Some of the funding is from the European Regional Development Fund. Liverpool says the project must become financially sustainable without subsidy.
The council envisages 100-200 bikes being supplied for the launch. Bidders must submit tenders by 6 June and the council plans to shortlist...
