Masterplan published for North West ports

Plans to expand port facilities in Liverpool and Manchester have been published for consultation.

The masterplan has been prepared by Peel Ports, owner of Liverpool Port and the Manchester Ship Canal, which are now collectively marketed as Mersey Ports. In 2008 Liverpool Port handled 32.2 million tonnes of goods and the ship canal handled 7.4 million tonnes.
