Parish councils in line to acquire parking and traffic responsibilities

Local communities across England could take control of street improvements and parking and traffic controls under reforms announced this week by the Government.

The Open Public Services White Paper sets out ministers’ intention to consult on the scope for enabling parish, town or new neighbourhood councils to take greater control of local authority services, including “street improvements, parking and traffic restrictions”.
