Greening opens door to Foster’s Thames Estuary airport plan

Transport secretary Justine Greening is to give serious consideration to plans for a new hub airport in the Thames Estuary that were unveiled this week by a team including internationally renowned architect Lord Foster. 

A DfT spokesman told LTT  that, although the Government had ruled out expansion of Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airports, a Thames Estuary airport would “be considered as part of our wider review of aviation policy”.
