Two new highways contracts seen as pilots for pan-London contracts were launched this week in East London.
The London boroughs of Havering and Barking & Dagenham have appointed Malborough Surfacing Limited to a new joint contract for planned maintenance works and improvement schemes and Volker Highways to a joint street lighting contract. They are expected to save the boroughs £750,000 by summer 2014.
