Detection trials for driverless Tube

London Underground is planning a trial of detection equipment that can halt driverless trains if a person or object is obstructing the track. Transport for London, which revealed plans for driverless trains last month (LTT 04 Nov), wants to trial equipment that could “automatically detect persons or objects on the track area” and “detect safety events associated with the platform/train interface”.
