The notion that people might be travelling less than they used to has been debated in several papers and magazines of late, with a sharp split appearing between those who attribute this trend solely to tough economic times (i.e. people simply can’t afford to travel) and those who think that reduced car use in particular can be at least partially explained as a lifestyle choice.
