The Highways Term Maintenance Association’s annual conference is to focus on reforming highways services.
Announcing the programme for the conference on 4 October, the HTMA said: “There have been discussions for a while now on the ‘what can we do’ and ‘how can things change,’ but it is very clear that the time to make change happen is now. This conference will present the options for implementing change.”
Whitehall figures including Steve Gooding, director general of the DfT, Mostaque Ahmed, DfT deputy director, and Steve Kent, seconded to the DfT’s Highway Maintenance Efficiency Programme, are among those to speak about what the HTMA describes as ‘the shape of the new world’.
The conference will also hear from Isabel Dedring, Boris Johnson’s deputy mayor for transport, on “boosting investment in the road network” and Stephen Glaister, RAC Foundation director, on the “myths and realities” on funding for the next five years.
