Scots road and rail spend up but bus funding falls

The Scottish Government is to increase spending on roads and railways but cut spending on buses over the next two years, according to the draft Budget published this week.

The figures show real terms expenditure on roads rising from £655.4m this year to £673.6m in 2013/14 and £657.8m in 2014/15. The budget includes provision for the Forth Replacement Crossing, as well as completing the M8 Edinburgh-Glasgow motorway by upgrading the A8 between Baillieston and Newhouse.
