Solar panel noise barriers could be erected along a 20-mile stretch of the M40 in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire if a plan backed by the Co-operative Group comes to fruition.
The project focuses on the section of motorway between junction 3 (Loudwater) and junction 8 (Wheatley, near Oxford), a stretch that passes through the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Aston Rowant National Nature Reserve.
