Flooding problems caused by heavy rainfall at a Cornish seaside car park have been alleviated by the installation of a sustainable urban drainage scheme (SUDS). The Trenwith surface car park in St Ives used to be flooded during heavy downpours.
Nigel Higgins, Cornwall County Council’s project leader for highways, says: “We needed a surface water attenuation solution for Trenwith within the site’s existing footprint, and not disrupt the car park users during construction....
