The Chancellor this week announced an additional £1.5bn for roads investment in England, including funds to relieve pinchpoints on the local road network and to boost maintenance.
A £170m local pinchpoint fund will deliver schemes on local authority roads that remove bottlenecks or support development. Bidding guidance will be issued shortly. The Government has also found £100m to expand the Highways Agency’s existing strategic road pinchpoint fund.
