Blackpool Council is looking for new sources of funding for the town’s bike hire scheme, which has been closed down for the winter as a cost-saving measure.
Launched in 2009, Blackpool’s ‘hire a bike’ scheme was one of the first mass bike hire operations in the country (LTT 28 Aug 09). Five hundred bikes were provided at 50 docking stations in the town.
