Trixi mirrors to boost cycle safety in Manchester

Cycle-friendly construction lorries: The London Cycling Campaign (LCC) has proposed a new construction lorry design that it says could cut the number of collisions with cyclists. The cab design resembles that of refuse trucks, featuring a lower seating position for the driver and larger windows.

The cab design resembles that of refuse trucks, featuring a lower seating position for the driver and larger windows.

 

Manchester City Council is to install trixi mirrors at 50 junctions to help drivers of large vehicles such as buses and lorries see cyclists. 

The project is one of 78 cycle safety initiatives to share £18m of DfT grant. Local authorities will provide match-funding, taking the total spending to £40m.
