Bus patronage in Scotland moves above 1997 levels

BUS patronage in?Scotland has recovered to levels last seen over a decade ago, according to Scottish?Executive figures published earlier this year.

The number of bus passengers north of the border in 2006/07 reached 482 million, so recovering ground lost in the closing years of the last decade, following a period in which patronage fell to its lowest point in 1999/2000. The recovery began after the turn of the century and has continued ever since, albeit very slowly.
