The Scottish Government has ruled out calls to dual the remaining single carriageway sections of the A1 between Edinburgh and the Scottish border.
The decision comes amid speculation that the Chancellor, George Osborne, will give the go-ahead to completing the dualling of the remaining 40 miles of single carriageway sections of the A1 between Morpeth and the Scottish border in the spending review on 26 June.
