Two parking bays have been sold for over half-a-million dollars in the US city of Boston.
The adjacent parking spots in the swish Back Bay area of the city were auctioned online by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), which had seized them from their owner in lieu of unpaid taxes.
Bidding started at $42,000 and rapidly escalated, with the winning bid of $560,000 (£357,000) was placed by Lisa Blumenthal, who lives near the parking lot.
