Oxfordshire County Council believes that Atkins’ decision to sell its UK highways services business to Skanska could lead to improved service delivery.
Oxfordshire signed a highways partnership contract with Atkins in 2010 for the delivery of maintenance, design services and construction. The annual value of the contract was between £20m and £25m. Oxfordshire, however, has been unhappy with Atkins’ performance for some time.
