TfL plans pedestrian crossing trials

Transport for London is planning to trial technology on pedestrian crossings that will cancel the green man request if there is no one waiting to cross the road.

So-called call-cancel technology is a standard feature of Puffin crossings on which the green man indicator is located on the near side of the crossing.

But the technology is not a feature of the traditional pedestrian crossings where the green man signal is located on the farside of the crossing.
