The Scottish Government is to increase the speed limit for goods vehicles over 7.5 tonnes on single carriageway sections of the A9 between Perth and Inverness from 40mph to 50mph.
The decision to run a three-year trial comes in response to pressure from road hauliers, motorist groups, and politicians after Transport Scotland announced that average speed cameras will be introduced to enforce speed limits on the road.
