The Freight Transport Association (FTA) has voiced concerns after discovering that 15 fixed penalty notices were issued to lorry drivers in London in a road safety crackdown. The FTA said “safety and compliance must come first for all freight operators using UK roads”.
The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) Traffic Command discovered offences such as driving for more hours than was permitted without a break and having vehicles that were not fit for the roads.
