People on their feet are the lifeblood of our high streets – yet provision for motor vehicles commonly makes them second class citizens

In the short-term, the warning’s a fair one. But it’s the cause that needs treating, not the symptom

Last time out, my closing words were about the “huge privilege and great responsibility” that it is to be professionally involved in how urban streets are shaped. This month, I want to talk about another critical aspect of street life where the conjunction of privilege and responsibility is a pressing issue.
