One of my highlights of 2013 was the Community Rail Awards ceremony held at Llandudno. The community rail network, now a mature movement with 20 years’ experience, still has a talent for innovation and creativity, evidenced by the many schemes highlighted at the ceremony. However, going into 2014 many community rail partnerships face an increasingly uncertain future owing to the bleak financial situation confronting local government.
