FirstGroup has placed a £70m order for 425 new buses for delivery in 2014/15. The order represents the groups’s biggest ever order for buses outside the London area to date.
All but six of the new vehicles will be UK built: Northern Ireland-based Wrightbus will supply the lion’s share with 301 buses, with ADL, Optare and Volvo UK getting orders for 97, 21 and six vehicles respectively.
