The Government is to cover any shortfall in toll revenues on Halton Council’s new Mersey Gateway crossing.
The DfT’s announcement was followed this week by the Chancellor’s confirmation of a £270m guarantee to support the project. The Government will guarantee around 50% of the senior debt required to finance the project with the remainder being provided by the project finance market.
