New options studied for HS2-HS1 link

New WAYS of connecting HS2 with HS1 will be explored following the Government’s decision this week to axe the original HS2-HS1 link plan. 

Announcing the scrapping of the 1.5-mile single track connection, transport secretary Patrick McLoughlin announced a new study into how to “improve connections to the continent that could be implemented once the initial stages of HS2 are complete”.

Transport for London is already conducting its own study, referred to in a press release...
