Bus stop safety concerns delay approval for city’s cycle plans

Councillors in Cambridgeshire have deferred a decision on an innovative package of measures to boost cycling on two main roads in Cambridge until further design work is complete.

The proposals for Hills Road and Huntingdon Road include two types of segregated cycleway – some kerbed and some segregated by height – as well as what could be the country’s first Cycle Zebra crossing, and ‘floating’ bus stops separated from the footpath by cycle lanes.
