Devon rail re-opening advances

Devon County Council has released more details of its plan to reinstate the railway to Tavistock on the western edge of Dartmoor National Park.

Devon entered into a joint venture partnership with Kilbride Properties Ltd in 2009 to re-establish a Plymouth-Tavistock rail service by re-opening the 5.5-mile branch between Bere Alston (on the Gunnislake branch) and Tavistock, which closed in 1968 (LTT 08 May 09).
