Toll-free crossings for Halton residents

Residents of Halton will be eligible for free trips across the Silver Jubilee Bridge and the new Mersey Gateway Crossing under a deal announced by the Chancellor, George Osborne. Tolls are to be imposed on the Silver Jubilee Bridge as a way of part-funding the new Mersey Gateway Crossing. Residents will have to pay a small charge to register for the exemption.
