TRANSPORT FOR London has launched the first of two public consultations for the proposed London Overground Barkingside extension. TfL wants to extend the Gospel Oak to Barking (GOBLIN) line 2.5 miles to serve the Barking Riverside housing development, which has planning permission to build 10,800 new homes (and described as being the largest in east London). Without a rail link, only 1,500 homes could be built, it says.
The consultation closes on 19 October, and responses will be made public...
