Network Rail is to conduct a new study into the North of England’s rail needs to inform NR’s next five-year regulatory control period (CP6: 2019/20-2023/24). The North of England route study is not due to formally commence until January 2016 but Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) says preparatory work is already underway.
