Warning bells alert pedestrians to buses

FirstGroup has installed warning bells on buses on route 83 between Oldham and Manchester in an effort to cut the chances of collisions with pedestrians. The driver uses a foot pedal to activate the warning, which comprises eight ‘dings’ then a voice recorded message saying ‘take care, vehicle approaching’, followed by five more ‘dings’.
