I refer to your editorial regarding the Government’s rehabilitation of road building across much of the UK (‘Road building rehabilitated’ Comment LTT 18 Dec 14). Many of its proposed road schemes are not just inappropriate in economic, health or broader environmental terms but also threaten to have negative effects on the quality of places in which most of us ultimately have to live.
