Brighton cuts back 20mph plan

Brighton & Hove City Council has dropped some areas from its signed-only 20mph limit plans after opposition from a majority of consultation respondents in those areas. Overall, the consultation for phase three of the council’s 20mph roll-out found 55% of the 5,543 respondents supported 20mph limits on their own street. The Green-run council will proceed with advertising speed limit orders for 20mph limits in most areas but has dropped plans for the lower limits in Saltdean and parts...
