DCLG takes charge of off-street parking policy

Responsibility for off-street parking has been transferred from the Department for Transport (DfT) to the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG), Prime Minister David Cameron announced on 12 March.

In a written statement, the prime minister said that DCLG would oversee Schedule 4 of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 relating to the recovery of unpaid parking charges.
