FirstGroup is hoping to launch open access rail services between London Kings Cross and Edinburgh.
Having lost out to a Stagecoach/Virgin joint venture to run the new East Coast franchise, FirstGroup has lodged a formal track access rights application for open access services with the Office of Rail Regulation. FirstGroup wants to start operations in 2018.
