Car industry fights back against ‘demonisation’ of diesel

Car-makers have launched a campaign to counter attempts to discourage the use of diesel vehicles. Several London boroughs have introduced a surcharge on parking permits issued to diesel vehicles, while in December the mayor of Paris called for diesel cars to be banned from the French capital by 2020.
