The West Midlands Regional Assembly is to split the regional funding allocation (RFA) for transport into two pots - one for smaller scale major schemes and the other for larger regional/sub-regional schemes - for at least the first two years. The move is intended to quell local authority concerns that smaller-scale schemes could lose out to larger schemes that contribute more to regional priorities.
